JUCO QB Malachi Marshall commits to FSU: A Rising Star Joins the Seminoles
Florida State University has secured a top talent in the junior college ranks, as quarterback Malachi Marshall commits following an official visit. With a reputation as one of the best signal callers, Marshall is set to make an impact at FSU.
Marshall's ambition is clear: "I just want the opportunity to do something great. I have big dreams and aspirations, and I believe FSU is the perfect place to achieve them." This commitment comes after a stellar season, where he led Iowa Western to a national championship, earning the NJCAA DI Football Offensive Player of the Year title.
The 6-foot-2 quarterback showcased his talent with 33 passing touchdowns, 13 interceptions, and an impressive 63% completion rate, resulting in 2,750 passing yards. Marshall's journey began at FCS Stony Brook, but he transferred to junior college, where he will now have three years of eligibility remaining.
FSU's quarterback room is already competitive, with established players like Auburn transfer Ashton Daniels, redshirt freshman Kevin Sperry, and FCS transfer Dean DeNobile. However, Marshall's arrival adds another layer of competition, as he aims to secure a backup role and potentially a starting position.
Marshall's integration into the program is well-planned. He will enroll in June and continue to familiarize himself with FSU through visits and Zoom sessions with coaches. His preparation is key to his success, ensuring he hits the ground running when he arrives.
As Marshall embarks on this new chapter, the Seminoles welcome a talented quarterback with a bright future, ready to contribute to the team's success.
